LienLok General Questions Answered

  • How long to record the lien?

    Each state requires a documented notification process. With our electronic filing system, most cases will have the lien recorded within 2 hours after the notification. 

  • How long does the lien stay in force?

    Each state's effective period is different. From 6 months up to 2 years. 

  • Is the lien filed in my business's name?

    Your business is named as the lien holder in all county filings. The customer will have to pay you to have the lien released.

  • How much paperwork is needed.

    One current invoice and a work authorization is all we need with the customers last known information, balance due, and an original invoice date or date of last work. 

  • Can we recover any interest or costs in addition to the balance due?

    There may be some ability to recoup some costs depending on the state of the work site and the details in hour contract. 


  • What do we do if we get paid?

    Since the entire process is included in the one price format, simply notify Lienlok and we will recorded the release and notify all parties.
